Community Development Initiative Lapwai (CDI Lapwai) is a community-rooted nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening Indigenous, Black, and other underserved communities through culture, healing, education, and economic empowerment.

Founded and led by community members, CDI Lapwai exists to preserve cultural knowledge, restore wellness, and create pathways for future generations to thrive. Our work is grounded in Black and Indigenous values, intergenerational wisdom, and the belief that communities hold their own solutions.

We bridge tradition and innovation, honoring ancestral practices while developing creative, evidence-informed programs that respond to today’s challenges.
